Peter Gavin

I was born and live in Philadelphia, PA. Introduced to woodblock printmaking while working as a painter/carpenter, I fell in love with it – such pleasing, quiet work made slowly with a wood plank and small knife. Over time this led me to carving and furniture making. In the meantime I became a registered nurse. After just shy of ten years working as a nurse and trying to work out ideas in small rooms and tiny corners of beautiful, cluttered, drafty shops, I’m super pleased to be a student at the Krenov School.
